CARPRO CQUARTZ Aqua: A New Approach
A water-based ceramic coating? That’s the approach CARPRO offers with CQUARTZ Aqua. This multi-surface hybrid coating combines an aqueous formulation with a very low volatile organic compound content, better known by the abbreviation VOC.

A water-based formula, designed differently
With Aqua, CARPRO adds an alternative to traditional solvent-based coatings to its range. Its unique feature: an aqueous base and a very low VOC content. The manufacturer notably highlights an application accompanied by fewer strong odors.
The appeal of this new product lies in the choice of formulation. Rather than presenting Aqua as a universal replacement for all coatings, it should be considered an additional solution, to be selected according to the surfaces to be protected and the durability expectations.
Water-based, however, does not mean without precautions. Proper ventilation and compliance with the manufacturer's safety instructions remain necessary during use.
Water beads. Maintenance is simplified.
CQUARTZ Aqua offers a hydrophobic and self-cleaning effect: water beads on the treated surface, while dirt releases more easily during maintenance. These properties are among the features highlighted by CARPRO.
The term "self-cleaning" does not mean that a vehicle no longer needs to be washed. Regular maintenance with compatible products remains essential to preserve the coating's properties. The goal is to make washing easier, not to eliminate it.
Protection that goes beyond the water-beading effect
Water beading is only part of what Aqua offers. CARPRO also announces UV protection and chemical resistance, to provide additional protection for compatible exterior surfaces.
This combination is what deserves attention: the choice of a coating should not rely solely on the appearance of the droplets, but also on the properties desired for the daily use of the vehicle.
Up to one year of protection
According to CARPRO, CQUARTZ Aqua can offer up to one year of protection. This announced durability allows the product to be positioned in the range and compared to the needs of each user.
This is not an identical duration in all conditions. Initial preparation, vehicle exposure, and maintenance methods influence the results. A vehicle used daily and exposed to the elements does not necessarily present the same conditions as a vehicle occasionally kept indoors.
Several exterior surfaces, one major exception
CARPRO designed Aqua to adhere to a wide variety of exterior surfaces. Glass is explicitly excluded: the product must therefore not be used on windows or the windshield.
The applications indicated on our product sheet include paint, exterior plastics and trim, as well as compatible rims. It remains important to check compatibility with the material and finish to be treated.
This versatility is an interesting criterion for those who wish to protect several exterior elements with the same coating, while respecting the product's usage limits.
Preparation remains essential
A different formulation does not exempt from careful preparation. Before application, the surface must be clean, decontaminated, and dry. Residues that may impair adhesion must be removed with a compatible preparation product.
For application, wiping, and curing, CARPRO's instructions remain the reference. Do not assume that a water-based formula applies to a wet surface. Respect the conditions and times indicated with the product.
